AI For HR Professionals

If you work in HR and you’re tired of hearing that AI is “transforming the role” without anyone showing you how… if your inbox is full of repetitive admin, from onboarding paperwork to feedback reviews and policy questions, that never seems to get lighter… and if what you actually want is a set of workflows you can run yourself, not a slide about the future of work… then this series is for you.

This 6-week programme has been designed by Talent Acquistion & Human Resources strategist Magdalena Orascanin, who has trained organisations across EMEA & AMER regions.

The series moves across the entire HR function. It opens by separating AI hype from what genuinely works in HR today, coming from lived experience and live examples and identifies where AI could help in your own day-to-day. From there, we get hands-on: building skills maps and succession plans that surface the talent you already have, designing AI-supported engagement and listening systems, and using AI to bring more consistency and fairness to performance management, with responsible, ethical use built into every step rather than bolted on at the end.

Every session is practical, using real HR scenarios and the tools you already have access to. You’ll leave each week with a template or workflow you can put to use immediately, not a concept to revisit later.

As always we close with a live Q&A clinic built entirely around answering your questions.

This series is for HR professionals at any level, with no technical background required: from generalists and HR business partners to L&D leads and people managers who want practical AI fluency across the function, not just one corner of it.

Week 1: AI In HR - The Big Picture

Before AI can help your HR function, you need a clear-eyed view of what it actually is and this session sets that foundation fast. We'll separate generative AI from the traditional, data-driven AI already sitting inside your HR systems, and look honestly at the hype versus the reality: real examples like a 30% increase in female applicants from AI-rewritten inclusive job ads, alongside what AI still can't do, aka, fix a broken process, remove bias on its own, or replace your judgement.

You'll leave with a personal list of the HR tasks eating your time and a first view of which ones are genuinely worth handing to AI.

Week 2: Hiring & Onboarding

Recruitment is where most HR teams first feel the benefit of AI, so this session gives you a working foundation across the hiring and onboarding journey: smarter sourcing and screening, writing clearer and more inclusive job descriptions, generating better interview questions, and using AI to personalise onboarding without losing the human touch.

This is deliberately the broad HR view rather than a specialist Talent Acquisition deep-dive, if recruitment is where most of your role lives, our AI For Talent Acquisition masterclass goes considerably further into sourcing, screening and stakeholder influence.

You'll leave with one AI-supported onboarding asset built and ready to use.

Week 3: Talent Management & Skills Mapping

Most organisations already have the skills and potential they need — they just can't see it. This session is about building that visibility with AI: creating role-specific skills maps, surfacing internal candidates who haven't put their hand up yet, and supporting fairer, evidence-based succession planning rather than decisions based on who's most visible in the room. We'll also cover the one non-negotiable rule here — never put personal or identifying candidate data into a public AI tool.

You'll leave with a completed sample skills map and a succession planning input template built around a real role in your organisation.

Week 4: Employee Engagement & Experience

Engagement isn't a once-a-year survey: it's a system, and this session is about making that system responsive with AI. You'll learn to craft better survey questions, analyse open-text feedback for themes and sentiment at scale, and use AI to personalise onboarding emails, learning recommendations and manager nudges without adding manual effort.

You'll leave having run a live sentiment analysis on sample employee feedback and identified one engagement touchpoint worth automating in your own team.

Week 5: Performance, Workforce Analytics & Responsible AI

Performance reviews are tough to write and easy to get wrong, this session is about using AI to bring more consistency, fairness and regularity to the process, from turning quick notes into structured feedback to spotting performance trends and flight risk across a team. We'll then turn to the question underneath everything covered so far: how bias actually shows up in AI, what ethical AI means in an HR context specifically, and how you act as the human filter between automation and impact.

You'll leave with your own Ethical AI Checklist and a draft performance review or development plan built from real notes.

Week 6: Live Q&A + HR Clinic

One hour, open format, entirely driven by your questions. Bring a policy you're stuck on, a workflow you want to build, a tricky feedback conversation, or a question about how to bring the rest of your team along.

There is no new content here, simply Magdalena answering the real problems that have come up across the previous five sessions.
